Topic No 1: Issues of Diversity and
Discrimination in the Workplace: Definitions and Conceptual Clarifications
Section 1 investigates key issues related to diversity and discrimination at work. Initially, we will examine the broader concept of equality, followed by the presentation of the main forms of discrimination encountered in the labour market. Then, specific issues, such as the distinction between direct and indirect discrimination, the concept of multiple discrimination, etc. will be discussed. Finally, forms of behavior related to discrimination, such as (psychological) harassment and victimization, will also be examined.
