Spain has four seasons (Spring in March, April and May; Summer in June, July and August.; Autumn in September, October and November; Winter in December, January and February). But as Spain is the most climatically diverse country in Europe (up to 13 different climates are defined by some experts) the climate varies quite a lot between the different regions. The 4 main climates are:
- Hot-summer Mediterranean climate: this is found on most of the southern and eastern coast of Spain and inland in Andalusia and Extremadura. The weather here typically has hot dry summers and mild winters with rare frosts and most of the rain falls in the autumn.
